I stumbled upon something that might be of interest.      Do you have a fungus under your toenails?    I have one or two toes with a small fungus infection.    I had someone recommend this to me.   I tried it and it works wonderfully.     You no longer have to pay ridiculous prices for foot fungus ointment or sprays.     Get a small jar of Vick's Vapo Rub or a generic work alike.     Coat it thickly around all your toes at bedtime and put on some old white socks.     Do this every night for a week or two and you will see a marked improvement.     I could tell within a couple of days, but try it for at least a week and see what the results are.     I was amazed.   Please come back and give me your testimonial on how it worked for you.   I'm sure everyone that reads this would love to hear as well.      Thanks for reading.

This is a short post to let you know about something that could be very important to most of us as we age.    Alzheimer's is a very scary condition for me as it involves losing one's identity a piece at a time until there is nothing left.    A seeming miracle product has shown itself recently that I am going to learn more about and start using.   It is one of those products that you would not consider as having many health benefits in that area.   I will let you be the judge and offer my recommendation as a place to start learning.    Coconut Oil is this new wonder drug that is said to absolutely give back a person's mental clarity and memory.    I will put a link to a book that is about coconut oil.    It is called "The Coconut Oil Miracle".  Their descriptions states: Use nature's elixir to lose weight, prevent heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, and beautify skin and hair.      As I find out more about it, I will post it here.

New, reasonably priced product that can help revitalize your skin

Tina and I went to a flea market last Saturday in Three Rivers, Michigan.    We sold her baked goods there.   It was a small, indoor market that had some very interesting booths.    A large book outlet, lots of  antiques and trinkets.   The booth that was set up next to ours looked like a bar taken right off of a beach from an island in the Caribbean.   I watched the couple set up their booth with interest since it seemed there was much thought put into the display.   They started putting some small white jars on the bar and then a large hand hewn wooden bowl filled with a thick white paste.    I listened to him hawk his wares for a little while and when there was a calm moment, I struck up a conversation with him to find out what he was all about.   Kim Kadas of Syracuse, Indiana has discovered an amazing product that he imports from Africa, repackages it here and sells from his home and his web site "WWW.GOLDENSHEABUTTER.COM"    He has a long list of skin condition that he said this creme either cures outright or at least helps heal.    As you could imagine, I was skeptical at first since he told me that his product had many many healing properties.    He immediately picked up on my skepticism and invited me to try a sample from his crude wooden bowl.    He scooped about 1/8th of a teaspoon onto a little wooden applicator and placed a little on the back of my hand.    It smelled a little like latex and he said that if I was allergic to latex I shouldn't use it.    My only allergies so far are lanolin, cats and pine oil, so I figured I was safe.   I rubbed it in and after about an hour I looked at my hands.    The skin looked more pliable, smoother and less wrinkled.     After one application!    I said, ok, I've got to try some of this stuff over an extended trial so I bought a small jar to take home.    Over this last week, Tina and I have tried this product on some trouble areas of skin that we have.    I have diabetic neuropathy in my legs and feet.   Part of the visible signs of this is red blotchy skin on my shins from injuries over the years so i used some there.    Tina has very rough, dry skin on her feet.   So much so that her feet snag the carpet when she walks barefoot in the house.   It's even hard for  her to put on nylons without snagging or tearing them.   Well, let me tell you that her heels and the sides of her feet are soft enough just from this past weeks application, that they do not snag anymore and the hard cracks are disappearing as well.    My shin's dry red and blotchy skin has faded to a light tan, and the dry flakiness have improved greatly.     So after a week, I'm sold on this stuff if it does no more than we have seen so far.    I recommend that you look his web site over and read about this type of ripe, raw, 100% Shea Butter product.   Give it a try and tell them that Mike and Tina wrote them up in their blog.   While you are at it, we would be interested in what you found if you used their Golden Shea Butter.   I will be happy to post your comments here.   All for now.

A little about me.

I turned 60 in December, 2011.    I suffer a little from Diabetes, an under active thyroid and slightly elevated cholesterol and triglycerides.    Otherwise, the Doc gave me a clean bill of health today.    Normal blood pressure, clean arteries and no other problems to speak of.    I take a few supplement pills from the health store which I will itemize:   Potassium Glutamate for heart and nerve function, Flax Oil capsules for the Omega 3 and 6.   Lecithen for nerve function and a little energy boost.    Glyburide and Metformin  to keep my sugar levels down, and I try to eat a proper diet.   That is not always easy as I go about life's travels, but I do the best I can.    I am cutting down on my salt intake.    I do love the salty fries and popcorn.    I am cutting down on consumption of red meat.   I'll really miss those burgers and steaks.    I cut out pork for the most part years ago, because that meat caused me to feel drained and weak every time I ate it.    I love stir fry, fresh veggies and salads so I'm glad those are on my approved list.    About five years ago, the docs found a dime sized hole in my heart that caused a couple of TIA's so I got that repaired in January, '08 and my blood pressure went from very low to textbook normal and I haven't had another TIA since.    I get moderate exercise and my heart rate goes from about 50 bpm resting to about 160-180 when very active.     I'm not a rabid exerciser or runner but I value what exercise I get from work, walking (not enough) and cycling (also not enough) in the summer.    My point in telling you all this is that if I can be healthy with my life style, than anyone can be.    I'm not prescribing these things, but just telling you my experiences.   I hope they are of value to you.     I welcome comments from you readers anytime.    I will put another post here when I get the notion.    The floor is now open to anyone that is interested.

What this is all about

I decided to put this blog up so I can show what I've been through in my life and how some of my experiences may help you in your travels down life's road.     I am a thinking man and I would like to share my thoughts and advice here with you.    If anything I say here helps you or your condition, then I've accomplished my goal.    I plan on telling you stories of my life experiences, what has helped me, what hasn't, and thoughts about those things.     From time to time I will ask Tina, my wife to add some of her thoughts and feelings on a subject.     We get into spirited discussions on things at times so I think her opinion might be interesting to you as well.     If I ramble, or bore you, please be patient since this is the first time I've tried to do this sort of thing.    I've started other blogs, but nothing like the scope or subject matter that this blog may have.     I will be talking about helpful products, healthy activities, natural medicines, useful technologies that we have used and might be helpful to you or someone you know.          I hope you enjoy the ride.
